1. Sophia Flörsch (Formula 3)

The second female in the top 10 and my favourite driver currently on track is 17 year-old German Sophia Flörsch.

The current front runner for women in motor sport is currently in only her second weekend of FIA Formula 3 Europe action, but is already making her way up the grid.

Flörsch took part in some massively entertaining battles in ADAC Formula 4 last season and was only hindered by a string of bad luck throughout the year.

Picking up two podiums in the last two weekends and collecting points in 10 of the 17 rounds she finished (enduring three retirements and a non-start), it was great to see a talented young driver who might of been overlooked due to her gender given a chance to progress by Formula 3 team Van Amersfoort Racing.

Flörsch is also an ambassador of the 'Dare to be Different' programme, ran by former Williams test driver Susie Wolff, aiming to inspire future generations of females to get in motor sport in all capacities. A woman beyond her years, and hopefully with a great career ahead.
