REVIEW: F2 BAHRAIN 2018

Norris enjoyed a great debut weekend in a full F2 seat as he continues to make his way towards F1

Rookie Lando Norris started his F2 career with a pole and a win, but had to share his spotlight with Artem Markelov, who took sprint race victory after a great recovery drive in the feature.

McLaren reserve driver Norris picked up a pole in his first outing for Carlin. He just piped fellow Brit George Russell to the pole by 0.06 seconds.

On Saturday, Norris walked to victory in the feature race. He was joined on the podium by Carlin team-mate Sergio Sette-Camara managed to hold off stand out performer Markelov to claim second.

The third placed Russian had an absolute stormer. A stall on the grid left him with a start from the pit lane. This didn't faze the man who won from seventh on the grid in the 2017 race, as he produced a master class in overtaking.

The Renault development driver wasn't done there however, as he took the win in the sprint race on Sunday. Markelov has gained a reputation for looking after tyres well, and he did just that as he held of Maximilian Gunther for the win.

Sette-Camara took third to gain his second taste of podium champagne for the weekend, while Norris once again drove brilliantly to climb from eight on the grid to make fourth.
